Parc Asterix is located in the Paris region 30km north of Paris. It opened in 1989, 3 years before its powerful U.S. rival Disneyland Paris. Parc Astérix is based on the universe of the famous eponymous comic, Asterix. The character first appeared in 1961 in the album Asterix the Gaul. The adventures of the little Gallic mustache and his faithful companion Obelix, translated into 85 languages, have attracted millions of readers around the world. The Parc Asterix offers over 30 attractions like the roller coaster Tonnerre de Zeus, the Grand émoustillant Goudurix 8 or flying chairs as well as live performances and humouristique with all the characters in the comic strip or an aquatic ballet of dolphins and sea lions . The sets peppered with humor gaulois recreate the atmosphere of the comics. Many restaurants and shops await you.

Parc Astérix is a theme park devoted entirely to the most famous of the little Gallic comic.
